My name is Jacquelyn and I am a functional nutritionist with a passion for helping others find relief and answers through food and lifestyle rather than through medication alone. I am an ICU, ER, and pediatric registered nurse of 11 years, a a bonus mom to 3 girls, and a new mama to my own miracle baby. Finding truths in an ever-confusing medical world can be overwhelming and my experience has taught me that medicine is often NOT the answer. It’s mind-blowing the truths that can be uncovered and healing that can happen when the right foods are in your diet. That’s my vision. To share with as many as I can the truths I know and HOW to make them a part of your every day life.
My focused approach is on customizing nutritional information to fit exactly what you and your family need to heal and have more energy.
When I started Prescribing Nourishment in 2020, it was simply my hobby. I had been suffering with a myriad of disease-related symptoms for years and had finally discovered a way of eating and living that provided healing. Despite extensive testing and bloodwork revealing “nothing was wrong with me”, I found I could eradicate debilitating GI symptoms and skin conditions by avoiding certain food groups. However, I still suffered and accepted that as my “norm”. One of those areas of suffering was my inability to balance hormones, or even generate a female cycle. For 8 years I sought expert help at multiple specialty facilities to identify what the root cause of my persistent amenorrhea (lack of a period) might be…but to no avail. I was told by one specialist that I was in menopause when I was 28 years old, but otherwise never received a diagnosis or any kind of an answer.
Turns out my husband was struggling with a myriad of health issues too that he had also accepted as “normal” (as many do!), so getting him on board with my crazy approaches to food was easier than expected. It is now a passion of both of ours and we both encourages each other not to deviate from the habits we know work for our health. He reminds me how we feel so much better than those inflammatory foods might taste.
